Hi there, gentlemen. Back from my short but sweet getaway to my son’s parents weekend at his little private Catholic college in Iowa. It only takes me three hours to drive there so I left Friday early afternoon so I could get there in time to take him, his girlfriend and roommate to dinner. My son’s 22nd birthday was two weeks before that but I hadn’t taken him out to celebrate so we enjoyed our dinner at Texas Roadhouse and if any of you have been there, for his birthday he did ride the saddle! It’s a fun place with great barbecue and rolls that have awesome honey butter. I also had to give him his birthday gifts.
He had told me weeks before that he and his roommate did not have a coffee maker so I treated him to a Mr. Coffee powered by Keurig (K-Cups, yeah!) so he could easily make himself a cup of coffee in the morning along with a two month supply of K-Cups and a CONTIGO mug that keeps coffee warm for seven hours. He is like his mom in his love for coffee so he was thrilled. His roommate isn’t into coffee but he does love hot chocolate so I got him some hot chocolate K-Cups. We spent all Saturday with his girlfriends family, an eat fest for lunch and dinner unfortunately, of which I paid for it today. We went to the football game in which my son’s team won (it's unusual but we take those victories and enjoy them) and then we went to a pizza place/sports bar for dinner that was playing the Iowa Hawkeyes game so we enjoyed watching that. It was quite the hot scorcher this weekend but I am a lover of summer so I did not complain.
I left to go home earlier than planned Sunday morning as I was looking forward to watching NFL Sunday. I did get to watch most games. Firstoff, I do enjoy my football, whether it be college or NFL. I will pay no attention to the ramblings on Twitter of the last few days. I love the game of football and I will continue to enjoy watching it. I do stand for our National Anthem but I do not look down at anyone else including players, coaches and/or team owners, that do anything to silently protest any racial or religious discrimination. I believe in the ENTIRE Constitution of the United States including the First Amendment (“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances”). It is quite strange how people only believe in parts of the Constitution rather than in its entirety. As Forest Gump said (from my favorite movie), “that’s all I’ll say about that.”
Anyway, I do have openings during my working hours this week. I did not take my work telephone with me out of town so I apologize if anyone felt slighted that I did not return their emails, calls or texts immediately this weekend. Looking for some passionate, wild sex with a round of wrestling as I feel quite energetic!
Hugs and voraciously hungry kisses,
